Two Weeks in India
Two weeks in India give you the time to properly discover one state or two — even three. It's the ideal length to travel in depth without rushing. You could combine the temples of Tamil Nadu with the backwaters of Kerala, explore Rajasthan all the way to Jaisalmer, the sandstone citadel of the Thar Desert, or link Bangalore to the beaches of Goa across the Deccan plateau. Based in Pondicherry, we build your itinerary to measure, with a private driver and accommodation we've tested ourselves. Below you'll find our ideas for 15-day trips in India, along with our advice on routes, budget and the best time to travel.

Which Routes for Two Weeks in India?
Two weeks is the threshold at which the great itineraries become possible. You can finally explore an entire region without rushing from one stop to the next. One caveat remains, however: even in fifteen days, India can't be seen all at once — a single, well-rounded route is better than a rushed overview. Here are the three main ways to shape your trip.
Tamil Nadu and Kerala: the Great South in 15 Days
Over two weeks, this great southern classic runs from one coast to the other: you land in Chennai and fly out of Cochin, or the other way around. Each region gets roughly a week. On the Tamil Nadu side, the great Dravidian temples, the mansions of Chettinad and the colonial charm of Pondicherry; on the Kerala side, the tea plantations of Munnar, the Thekkady reserve, the backwaters and some time by the sea. A journey that marries the fervor of the temples with the serenity of the canals, never forcing the pace.
Rajasthan in Full, All the Way to Jaisalmer
Where ten days force you to stop at Udaipur, fifteen open up the road west. To the Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra and its Taj Mahal, Jaipur the pink city — you can add the sacred lake of Pushkar, Udaipur and its palaces at the water's edge, Jodhpur the blue city, and above all Jaisalmer rising from the sands, with a night in the dunes of the Thar Desert. This is Rajasthan in full, the Rajasthan of maharajas and caravans, that the extra time finally lets you travel without sacrificing a thing.
From the Deccan to the Beaches: Karnataka and the South
A third major option is the crossing from the southern interior to the coast. It often starts in Bangalore, a major air hub in the South. From there you explore the inland South — the palace of Mysore, the coffee plantations of the Coorg hills, the temples of Hampi — before reaching the coast to end the trip gently. A varied route that brings together heritage, nature and time to unwind by the sea.
And if time allows, this southern chain extends naturally: traveling up from Chennai to Mumbai, you can link Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Goa in a single trip. A grand itinerary that goes beyond the two-week mark — see our trips of more than two weeks.
When Is the Best Time to Spend 15 Days in India?
As with any trip to the subcontinent, the safest window runs from November to March: this is the dry, temperate season across most of the country. We break down the regional climate nuances — the northern plains versus the Himalayas, the west coast versus the east — on our page dedicated to 10-day trips.
The most pleasant time for a two-week trip is from late December to February: the days are mild and sunny, in Rajasthan as much as in the South. This is when you have the most freedom to shape your itinerary, with no constraints from the weather. In March and April the weather is still fine but the heat builds, especially in Rajasthan: it's better to head south instead, or to add a stop at higher altitude — in Munnar or the Nilgiris — to cool off.
And if you can only travel in summer (July–August), the South remains a good option. The east coast of Tamil Nadu, sheltered by the Ghats, stays relatively dry — hot and humid, but fine for traveling — while Kerala and inland Karnataka are then in full monsoon, green and brimming with water. This is precisely the moment ayurveda enthusiasts choose: the monsoon is the traditional season for treatments, and this low season often means preferential rates at Kerala's sought-after seaside ayurvedic retreats.
